‘The world is our parish’

The Baltimore-Washington Conference is part of a global church and lives out that reality through partnerships with Methodists around the world. Friday afternoon, members heard updates on each.
The Rev. Edgardo Rivera, who led a delegation to Puerto Rico last year, said this partnership is just getting started. The executive assistant to the bishop of Puerto Rico, Jeanette Gralau-Hernandez, said that her conference was excited to be together with the BWC. “We have you in our hearts and prayers,” she said.
The Rev. Joe Daniels, leader of the Zimbabwe partnership, noted the Pastors’ School and Volunteers in Mission trips to Zimbabwe are key areas.
And the Rev. JW Park said that the past four years have been the most active with the South Korea partnership, including a trip by the bishop and other leaders to South Korea to celebrate the 130th anniversary of that conference. It was missionaries from Baltimore who first went to Korea in 1885 that brought Methodism to its shores.
