Ronald Moon - July 12, 2015
Ronald Ellsworth Moon, 83, the husband of Pastor Margaret Moon and father of the Rev. John M. Wunderlich III, died July 12. His son officiated at the funeral service at Johnsville UMC July 21. Interment with military honors is in Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville.
Ronald Ellsworth Moon was born April 11, 1932 in Swanton, MD, and celebrated 37 years of marriage to Pastor Margaret Moon.
In addition to her current church, Johnsville UMC in Union Bridge, she has been a local pastor since 2000, serving Deer Park, Bethesda in Sykesville and Union Bridge UMCs.
Ronald Moon was a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed at Lake Charles Air Force Base in Louisiana. He was a member of the Westminster American Legion Post #31 and had been a member of the American Legion for more than 50 years.
He retired in 1987 from the State Highway Administration, then worked for S.T.V. Lyons and the Wilson T. Ballard Co.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and son who serves First Saints Community in Leonardtown, include daughter Kelly Grecco; and four grandchildren.
