A Lenten Prayer
By the Rev. Tony Love
I Need You Now, Lord
As I begin this sacred journey,
A traveler owning my sin, faults, and failure,
Moving outward to embrace Your gifts of love, grace, and redemption,
I need You.
I need You
To call me out, firmly in truth.
To cause me to face my stuff. All of it.
To press me to go deeper, so deep that I’m elevated to higher.
To wrestle with me until my best presents itself.
To hold me accountable. No wiggle room.
To remind me that the endgame is worth the trip.
To encourage me to stay steady and focused.
Empty me of “Me, My and Mine.” Totally.
I need You.
Transform my being.
With every step, make me more faithful,
more in the image of You that You see in me.
Draw me closer to Your heart that our beats are one. In sync and strong.
Let Your eyes be my lens.
Your ears be my filters.
Your presence be my guide.
And Your breath fill my soul anew.
And when this journey has ended,
I need You. STILL.
I ask this in Jesus' name, hallelujah and amen.
Beautiful and timely. Thanks Tony.
Well done, my friend!
I hope you won't mind if I share this with my TuesdayLIVE! Women's Bible Study. We are studying a book by Barb Roose called 'Surrendered' - Letting go and Living Like Jesus. This is so appropriate. We have 107 women participating in this study for the Spring Semester! Praise God!
Amen! In Jesus name.
Love it. Thanks Rev. Tony Love
Beautiful. I will share with the congregation
