Deaf Churches
Christ Deaf Church and Magothy Deaf Church are culturally Deaf - meaning everything is done from the perspective of Deaf Culture and is in American Sign Language. Both churches provide voice interpreters for persons who do not know sign language.

Hiring an Interpreter
Read guidance from the Committee on Deaf & Hard of Hearing Ministries. Familiarize yourself with standards:
- Costs are $50 - $70/hour (2 hour minimum) + mileage.
- 2 interpreters are typically needed for over 1 hour.
- Need program/event materials ahead of time.
- Have a contact person with contact information upon arrival.
- Locate a freelance interpreter here. Contact Rev. Leo Yates for assistance.
- Grants are available.
