 End Hunger: The United Methodist Men of the Baltimore-Washington Conference, in partnership with the Society of St. Andrew, have two opportunities to help end hunger in our area by unloading, breaking down and delivering bags of potatoes: March 24, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Oakdale Emory UMC, 3425 Emory Church Road in Olney. UMM Annual Prayer Breakfast: The United Methodist Men of the Baltimore-Washington Conference will hold its annual Prayer Breakfast Saturday, March 17, at 8:30 a.m., at Mt. Olive UMC, 5115 Old Court Road in Randallstown. The theme of the morning is "Kingdom Minded Men," based on Luke 2:31. Tickets will be available soon for District UMM presidents or online for a $20 donation per person. Contact UMM president Hampton Conway for more information. 


Five Things Your Visitors are Thinking But Won't Ask

A workshop led by Jason Moore of Midnight Oil, will be held Friday, March 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the BWC Mission Center in Fulton, and on Saturday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Nichols Bethel UMC in Odenton. Moore will help identify what the most pressing issues are for new visitors and how to address them with easy to implement ideas and systematic steps. Baltimore-Washington Retreat and Camping Ministry Seeks Summer Ministry Leaders

Camp and Retreat Ministries is passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ by creating intentional Christian community through which campers have fun learning about their own gifts and skills, making new friends, and spending time with God! Do you know an enthusiastic leader who loves sharing Jesus’ love with children and youth in creative ways? Do you know a young adult who would thrive in an outdoor ministry setting this summer? We want to help young adults grow as spiritual leaders while learning about their own giftedness and call.  We need Program Staff who we train in skills like high ropes and water sports as well as age and faith development. Manidokan and West River are also looking for people with specific skills to be a Program Director, Sailing Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Cook, Kitchen Assistant, Nurse and Driver. A camp nurse must be an RN, LPN, or CNP and able to be onsite from mid-June through early August. Cooks and van driver must be at least 21 years old and have experience in their respective area of work. Summer Program Director

This very special position brings together the gifts of one very talented, creative, organized, enthusiastic team player who is 21 or older and loves kids, Jesus and the beauty of creation with a team of paid staff and volunteers. Some camp or related experience required. This could a be perfect position for a teacher, grad student, seminarian, or other adult who would enjoy the leadership of pulling together an awesome week of camp for between 60-120 campers per week. With a weekly stipend of $430, personal housing, and scrumptious 3 meals a day, is this the position for you? You would receive training in low ropes, high ropes, zipline, lifeguarding, archery, and rivercrafts as well as policies and practices of child development and safety. June -August 2018. Summer Camp Nurse

When campers are healthy and safe in the summer, they can get even more from the camp experience. Manidokan Camp & Retreat Center is looking for an RN, LPN or CRNP, who is able to practice in Maryland, to join our 2018 Summer Staff. Manidokan has 426 acres of rolling hills, hiking trails, and forest. We are adjacent to the Potomac River where we take rafting and canoe trips. We have low ropes, high ropes, and ziplines on site. We can house 120 campers plus staff weekly. Tasks include reviewing health forms, distributing medicine, performing first aid, diagnosing and advising on other medical needs, being on call from Sunday afternoon through Friday evening, and loving kids by treating them with care and respect. In addition to weekly $500 stipend, we provide private housing that can include space for your children who can join in some camp events and all meals Monday-Friday. Preferred arrival close to June 13 and continue until August 10, 2018.
