Prayer Service for General Conference:

This Sunday, Dec. 2, the clergy of Charles County invite you to gather at Calvary UMC in Waldorf for a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. for our churches in our United Methodist Connection as we prepare for the specially called session of General Conference (February 23-26, 2019).  Following the service, there will be an opportunity for everyone to hear a special presentation by Rev. Sarah Schliekert, Jurisdictional Conference (Alternate), on the Way Forward and to ask questions about it.  All laity and clergy are welcome to attend.  Clergy as also invited to bring a word of scripture or a prayer to offer.


December 1st: Evaluations, Advisories & Pastoral Goals are due.

The United to Love Moral Courage Awards - Youth Application Open!

 Do you believe that God ever calls individuals and/or communities to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God even when doing so is uncomfortable or unpopular? Do you believe that God is still calling youth, young adults, women and men to be changemakers for God’s justice? Learn more and apply at http://www.bwcumc.org/moral-courage-awards/.

 The application deadline is December 20, 2018.   Youth awardees will be announced Sat. Feb. 9, 2019 at the ROCK Retreat in Ocean City on the main-stage and will be honored on Sat. June 1, 2019 at the United to Love Luncheon in Baltimore.


BWC Trip to Alabama (Civil Rights Tour): April 6-11, 2019

Come join us on this immersion experience as we visit some of the most significant venues of the Civil Rights movement. Sites to be visited in Birmingham, Alabama include the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, Kelly Ingram Park, and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. In Montgomery, we will visit Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and Parsonage, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Legacy Museum, National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the Rosa Parks Museum. And in Selma, we will cross the historic Edmund Pettus Bridge and visit Brown Chapel AME Church and the National Voting Rights Museum.


Last day to pay 2018 Mission Share (formerly Apportionments)

 January 15, 2019 is the last day to pay your 2018 Mission Share.
