Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Area
To create opportunities for shared ministry and leadership and practice more faithful stewardship, the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference and the Peninsula-Delaware Annual Conference have partnered to form the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Area. Created in July 2024 by the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference, the new Episcopal Area is led by Bishop LaTrelle Miller Easterling.
In addition to sharing a bishop, the two conferences share several other staff members, including the CFO, Paul Eichelberger, and Chief Administrative Officer, the Rev. Erica Robinson-Johnson. They also join together in many ministries, including the new Ignite Conference for youth, which will be held in March 2025 in Ocean City.
This sharing of resources, mission, and ministry began in 2021 when the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula-Delaware Conferences joined in an affiliation, a unique partnership led by Bishop Easterling. Both annual conferences, adopted s vision to create vital congregations that make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
While they work closely together in shared ministries, each conference also maintains its own identity and autonomy.
